Definition of goals and status
We discovered two different papers which we examine more closely. „Faster progress bars“ by Harrison et al. and „Don't use 7-segment displays“ by Thimbleby.
The paper „Faster progress bars“ includes interestings studies. There are overall four studies that have been conducted with different samples of participants. This means there is a large number of people necessary to repeat the study equally. Also the styling of the progress bars as horizontal lines with only small animations in form of ribbons is not up-to-date. Consequently, conducting this study might nowadays lead to other perceptions than the original ones in terms of time and endurance.
The paper „Don't use 7-segment displays“ is not suitable for replicating studies. The research is too loose and the context is also not up-to-date.
