Group: A The following entry describes the background of our project and what goals we want to achieve.

Background:
In the context of the „Praxisseminar 2017“ an open source project called „Regensburger Usability Testing Plattform“ was developed, which should offer the opportunity to carry out remote usability studies.
The project is based on the Open Broadcaster Software (OBS) and has an additional Web Interface.
OBS is used to record video and audio information (e.g.mouse movement, facial expression) given by the test participant. OBS can be enhanced by Python scripts with additional functionalities, in our case data gathering. At present a keylogger is embedded to show the keys the test subject is using during the test. Other functionalities can easily be added.
There are two different web interfaces, one for the test subject the other for the examiner. Both views include a chat, to be used as the main communication canal. The examiner-view furthermore includes the possibility to add annotations during a running test and a test manager, where new tests can be created and existing tests can be selected or deleted. Additionally, tasks can be sent to the participant's view. The task completion time is recorded by the participant's view.

Goal:
The goal we want to achieve is to evaluate the tool named above regarding the following points:
What are the core features a remote usability tool needs?
How do users (test subjects / examiners) rate the usage of the tool?
What possibilities are there to improve the tool?
What is already out on the market, and what can we learn from those solutions?
