With this topic gathering great interest from two different teams, there was a meeting between the two teams and the supervisor to find out closer interests and subdivide the topic. This resulted in dividing the topic into investigating the effect of technical video metadata and the effect of different (structural) video content on understanding the content of educational videos. This team is focusing on the latter.

The first thoughts of the method for this study/project are:

• Conducting a preliminary study withing the university of regensburg in form of a survey (in cooperation with the other group)
  • What hardware is available to the professors?
  • How well do they know about online lectures?
  • How has Corona changed all this - did they do further training or buy new hardware?
  • How are lectures conducted → picture and sound; only sound; live or recorded?
  • Will they benefit from this situation in the future?

• Primary Study (in cooperation with the other group)
  • Record short educational video with content gradations (e.g. you see the face of the instructor or not; can you skip/rewind 10 seconds or not; … [tbd])
  • Topic that nobody knows anything about
  • Show the video(s) to the participants and ask them content related questions afterwards
